Scenario1: Old emails/recipients id cannot remove from the Outlook’s offline global address list.
Scenario2: You’ve created a new user (or any Exchange recipient that should show up in Exchange Address Books/GAL), but the recipient does not show up in the GAL in Outlook.
To resolved the issue, we have to execute several steps. Firstly, this article shows the steps required to clear cached Address Books from Outlook, and then Secondly, explains how to manually force and update the global address list in Office 365.
At a glance
- Clear the “Offline Address Books” folder and “RoamCache” folder, and other all “.xml” files from the location “%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook”.
- From Outlook “Download Address Book..”
- If these steps not work, clear check box of “Use Cached Exchange Mode” from Outlook.
Be sure that your Outlook and Exchange is updated with the latest patches.
